US Army Soldier in Universal Camouflage Uniform
NEWS

There is a relentless sense of #duty that sets apart the average from the excellent.

Duty is what made veterans the 2%. Its inherent.

Excellence. Integrity. Courage. Service before self.

These are just some of the attributes that lead veterans to #serve. Their service didn’t end when the uniform came off though – its engrained in us. It’s who we are.

Its why we continue to be of service beyond the uniform – it’s our duty!

So, while the world thanks you today for your service in defending our freedoms, we also thank you 364 days a year for WHO you inherently are.

Your bravery will never be forgotten, and we will fight to never lose the freedom which you paid such a big price for. But remember, it’s also your continued service that we are indebted to.

Where does #leadership start?

Most #veterans argue it began in the military -- experiencing the challenges, mentorship, and growing responsibilities of service in our formative years.

JJ DID TIE BUCKLE, right?

As I sat watching my son's lacrosse practice, it hit me -- leadership begins with #teamwork and #followship.

It began when we learn to work as a cohesive unit. Collectively following the strongest voice in the room.

It began with the coach that tests our strength; challenges our resolve; lifting our "net" when it falls.

From these trials, we develop a leaders voice. Emulating the strongest, soundest voice in the room. Understanding the value of being held accountable and serving a team.

Because a teams success is their leaders success.

#servantleadership starts at the grass roots.
